Use These Two Unexpected Products to Clean Your Headlights

There are a lot of products and tools that you use to keep your vehicle looking sparkling clean, but you should add two unusual materials to your list of cleaning products: Deet and sandpaper. The headlights on your vehicle get foggy and yellow when the plastic oxidizes, but these two unusual cleaning materials can make your headlights shine like new.

Sandpaper is a method that requires some skill and patience, but it can work. Generally, you want to start with coarser sandpaper to remove the majority of the yellowing. Then, you'll move to finer grades to give it a smooth appearance. But you need to be careful because you can also scratch the plastic.

Another option is to use bug spray that has Deet as one of the ingredients. It's a highly effective method, but you need to be careful about getting it on your car's body because it will remove paint, too.
